The victorious team receives a total of 100 shards, while the losing team receives 50 shards. To be eligible for this award, players must achieve at least a certain number of points. This Umbral Shard allows players to increase their expertise in a specific gear slot, allowing a raise from 600 to 625. Upgrading a piece of gear also permanently raises the player's expertise with that gear slot.
