Facebook Marketplace is a great place to buy and sell items. Additionally, there's the added bonus of Marketplace buyers and sellers being able to use Facebook Messenger to discuss items, and to review someone's profile to see if you want to deal with them. Also, Facebook Marketplace lets sellers rate buyers, and see a buyer's current rating. Whether you have a good or bad experience with a buyer on Facebook Marketplace, rating a buyer can give the next seller they deal with information that helps them determine whether or not they want to do business with that person. Finally, it's important to note that you can only rate Facebook Marketplace buyers in the Facebook mobile app for iPhone, iPad, or Android devices, and that you can't rate them in Facebook Marketplace on Facebook.com.

Now let's walk through the steps to rate someone on Facebook Marketplace.

Step 1. Launch the Facebook mobile app on either an iPhone, iPad, or Android device. You'll arrive at your Facebook home screen.

Step 2. Tap the "Menu" icon in the lower right corner of the screen. The Menu icon features three horizontal lines. A menu opens.

Step 3. Tap "Marketplace" in the menu. Facebook Marketplace opens.

Step 4. Tap "You" in the menu that runs along the top of your screen. The You screen opens.

Step 5. Tap "Your Listings" in the list of options that appear beneath Marketplace Profile toward the top of the screen. A screen displaying your active and sold Facebook Marketplace listings appears.

Step 6. Tap to see all of the conversations beneath the active or sold listing where you had a conversation where you want to rate the buyer. A screen appears displaying a list of the conversations you had with people about this specific item you listed on Facebook Marketplace.

Step 7. Tap the conversation you had with the buyer you want to rate. A screen appears displaying your conversation with that specific buyer. A Rate Buyer button will appear in blue text to the right of the item you're selling along the top of the screen.

Step 8. Tap "Rate Buyer." A Rate Buyer window flys up from the bottom of the screen asking if you would recommend this particular person as a buyer.

Step 9. Tap the smiley face if you would recommend this person, or tap the frowning face if you would not recommend this person as a buyer. After making your selection, an Additional Feedback screen appears, asking you what went good or what went bad with this particular buyer.

Step 10. Tap the blue "Done" button in the upper right corner of the Additional Feedback screen after supplying your feedback on the buyer. A Rating Submitted screen appears, featuring a green check mark and a message informing you that your rating has been submitted. After closing this window, you'll see the Rate Buyer text that was previously at the top of the screen has changed to say Change Rating.
