How to Remove a Bank Account from Acorns
Removing a bank account from Acorns is a quick and easy process that helps you manage which financial accounts are connected to your investment activity. If you’re no longer using a particular bank or want to stop round-ups from being pulled from that account, you can disconnect it directly from the Acorns app.
Start by opening the Acorns app on your mobile device and logging into your account. Once you’re on the main dashboard, tap on the profile icon, typically located in the top left or right corner of the screen depending on the app version. This will take you to your account settings.
From the profile or settings menu, tap on the section labeled Linked Accounts. This section displays all the external bank accounts you’ve connected to your Acorns profile. Select the bank account you wish to remove.
Before removing it entirely, you’ll need to toggle off the “Use for Round-Ups” option. This disables Acorns from pulling spare change or other funds from that bank account. Once round-ups are disabled, the option to unlink or remove the account may become available. Tap the option to remove or disconnect the account and confirm when prompted.
Keep in mind that if the bank account you’re trying to remove is your primary funding source, you may need to add a new bank account first before the system allows you to unlink the current one. This ensures that Acorns can still process withdrawals or manage your investments without interruption.
