In Destiny 2, you can choose whether to display your helmet or hide it. To hide your helmet, follow these steps:

Open the Equipment menu.
Hover over the helmet and click it.

Select Change Skin from the drop-down menu.
Choose your preferred option, and your helmet will be hidden from other equipment items on your character’s body.

Additionally, if you want to keep your helmet on in non-combat zones, go to Options - Gameplay - Always show helmet in non-combat zone
