With recent updates Android has made it easier to find and manage downloaded files on your device. One option you have is the ability to rename downloaded files.
Now let's walk through the steps to rename a downloaded file on your Android device.
Step 1. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen on your Android device to display the Apps screen.
Step 2. Tap to open an app called Files, My Files, or File Manager. The name of the app will depend on your device manufacturer. In the case of my device, this will be located in my Samsung folder.
Step 3. Tap "Downloads" in the Categories section. A list of the files you've downloaded through your device's web browser will be displayed.
Step 4. Hold your finger against the downloaded file you want to rename to select it, and then tap the vertical ellipses on the screen to bring up a menu. Choose "Rename" in the menu. The Rename File dialog box is displayed.
Step 5. Enter a new name for your file, and then tap "Rename." You'll return to the Downloads window where you'll see your file name has been changed.
