The apps installed on your Android device often store data elements with the intent of providing a better experience when you use that app going forward. Downsides of your Android apps caching data are that the cached data could be the cause of the app acting up, and it can also result in sensitive data being captured and stored, such as your browser history. Thankfully, Android makes it easy to clear the cache for apps on your device.
Now let's walk through the steps to clear the cache for apps on your Android device.
Step 1. Swipe up on your Android device's home screen to display the Apps screen, and then tap "Settings." The Settings screen is displayed.
Step 2. Tap "Apps" in the Settings menu. The Apps screen is shown.
Step 3. Tap the specific app you want to clear the cache for. In this example, I'll choose Google Chrome so I can clear the browser history. The App Info screen for that app is displayed.
Step 4. Tap "Storage" in the menu on this screen. The Storage screen is shown.
Step 5. Tap "Clear Cache." The cache for that app on your Android device will automatically be cleared. This can be validated when you see the size in the Cache field go down to zero.
