How to Reset ANY CenturyLink Router Modem (Password Wi-Fi DSL Zyxel Actiontec Technicolor Internet)
To reset your CenturyLink router, you can do either a soft reset (reboot) or a hard reset (factory reset). Here's how to do both:
Soft Reset (Reboot)
This simply restarts your router to fix temporary issues like slow speeds or no connection.
How to do it:
Unplug the power cable from the back of the router.
Wait about 30 seconds.
Plug it back in.
Wait 2–5 minutes for the router to fully reboot and reconnect.
Tip: This won't delete any settings — your Wi-Fi name and password will stay the same.
Hard Reset (Factory Reset)
This will erase all custom settings (Wi-Fi name, password, parental controls, etc.) and return the router to factory defaults.
How to do it:
Find the reset button on the back or bottom of your router — it's usually a small pinhole.
Use a paperclip or similar object to press and hold the button for 10–15 seconds.
Release when you see the lights blink or turn off.
Wait a few minutes for the router to reset and reboot.
After the reset, your Wi-Fi network name and password will return to what’s printed on the sticker on the router.
After a Factory Reset
To log into your router settings:
Go to: http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.1.1
Default username: admin
Default password: printed on your router label (sometimes also admin or 1234
