How to run a Java game from .jar files (in linux)
Heyo conrads, it's me, turble celbor. Today I am going to teach you how to run a Java game from terminal in linux!
Oh look, It's not minecraft, but it turns out several games are written in Java, a mysterious computer language that I have no capacity to program in.
Don't worry. I'm here for you honey bunches of oats. I am going to show you how to run those damned .jar files so you can game like a pro with java games. No. No coffee is included. It's computer code.
The game I am using is a fan implementation of classic battletech. Megamech can be obtained from https://megamek.org/ gratis. It's a FREE GAME (That was for SEO motherfucker).
I guess you could also use this to run minecraft.
All the commands I used:
cd ~/path/to/your/.jar/file
java -version
java -jar javaprogram.jar
