How to run the Adventure Game Studio Editor under Linux with Virtual Box AGS Gamedev Tutorial Win10
!!! IMPORTANT !!!
In the video I download the VM-Ware Virtual Machine and install it and it works! I tried with the VirtualBox Image for the Windows10 Virtual Machine and it didn't work inside Virtual Box! As stupid as this sounds, don't ask me why, probably Microsoft screwed up something, so try the Virtual Box image first and if it fails try the WM-Ware image...
* Download the Windows 10 VM

* Download the AGS Editor:

0:46 Check for availability of 64 bit VMs and fixing it in BIOS (SVM Mode for AMD / VTx for Intel)
1:29 Installing the Virtual Operating System into Virtual Box
1:49 Settings for the virtual Windows 10
2:41 Starting the Guest OS and settings inside the virtual OS like sharing files with the Host OS
3:10 installing the AGS Editor
5:00 Additional: Installing the Virtual Guests Addon for Virtual Box to share files between Host and Guest OS (optional for some...)
and I am well aware of programs like WINE and play-on-linux, but the AGS editor does not play nice with these, but these steps shown in the video worked...
So this Tutorial also covers how to run a 64 bit Windows 10 under Linux in Virtual Box after enabling SVM Mode in the BIOS of an AMD CPU and enabling VTx Virtualization Technology on an intel CPU at 0:50 in the video!
a very big Thank You to AGS users eri0o and morganw for helping me with a lot of the steps required to get the AGS editor running under Linux, especially the BIOS fiddeling!
