How to get Signal desktop
To use Signal Desktop, you need to first install one of the mobile apps, use it to register on Signal, and then scan the desktop client's QR code. Once the desktop client has been linked to your account, it will function independently of the mobile app.
Keep in mind, the desktop app doesn't include all of the same features as the mobile apps, yet. If you get rid of the mobile app, you will no longer be able to link new instances of Signal Desktop to your account, search conversation contents, make voice/video calls, or create new groups.

These steps will demonstrate how to use Signal desktop styp by step
1- Log in to the Windows user account for which you want to setup Signal.
2- Create a shortcut (optional) to the Signal.exe file on your desktop or task bar.
3- Launch Signal by clicking the shortcut or running Signal.exe.
4- Wait for a QR code to show up on your desktop.
5- Launch Signal on your mobile device. go to Settings → Linked Devices.
6- Add a new device by tapping the add button (+)
7- Grant access to your mobile device’s camera. You’ll be prompted only when doing this for the first time.
9- Scan the QR code from your desktop machine.
10- Enter a device name, such as the Windows user account’s name you’re doing the setup process for.
