Apple TV+ is loaded with great TV shows and movies. However, if there are kids who have access to your account, you may not want them to have access to content that isn't appropriate for them. Thankfully, Apple makes it easy to set up and use parental controls that let you define what rating level will require a user to enter a 4-digit passcode before they can view that content.
Now let's walk through the steps to set up and use parental controls on Apple TV+.
Step 1. Open a web browser and navigate to www.TV.Apple.com. Sign into your Apple TV account if prompted. You'll land on your Apple TV home screen.
Step 2. Click the profile icon at the top of the screen to open a menu, and then click "Settings" in that menu. The Account Settings screen is displayed.
Step 3. Scroll down this screen until you get to the Parental Controls section, and then click to toggle on "Content Restrictions." A window will pop up prompting you to set a passcode.
Step 4. Enter what you want to be your 4-digit passcode. This passcode will be required for changing any content restrictions settings going forward. Re-enter your 4-digit passcode again when prompted, and then click "Continue." The next window prompts you to enter the email address you'll want to reset your parental passcode through if you forget it.
Step 5. Enter the email address you want to use to reset your Apple TV+ parental passcode if you forget it, and then click "Continue." A message appears letting you know that your Apple TV+ parental controls passcode has successfully been set.
Step 6. Click "Done." You'll now be able to modify all of the settings in the Apple TV+ parental controls section. You can set filters on Apple Music, and movies and TV shows on Apple TV. Any changes you make here will be effective immediately for anyone using those Apple services.
