Installing Sphinx Search engine into a Windows environment can be more than tricky. In this video we install the search engine from scratch. We also leave 'issues' with the configuration to show typical errors and how to debug them. Finally we'll use mysql to test SphinxQL from the command line.

It is assumed you already have Apache, MySQL and PHP running correctly. I have WAMP running for this tutorial.

If you are a beginner with MySQL or PHP you may want to forget about installing a search engine as such - even after it is installed there is a lot of work to get results - and this isn't covered in this tutorial.
