After you finish the game you unlock the all-mighty raid boss. You are told by Tiny Tina that if you don't go with a group you will just die. However it seems this boss is completely solo-able and doesn't actually require a raid. This video illustrates a solo raid boss kill.

Borderlands The Pre Sequel is from the Borderlands series of games. Borderlands is a first person shooter co-op comedy game. The story world is a post-apocalypse alien world. Hillbillies have moved to some of the most fringe parts of the universe. They have massively inbred and many of them have formed Mad Max style gangs.

But like all things an event changed this planet's fate forever. After a group of vault hunters opened a vault and released a monster it also released a very valuable mineral throughout the planet. This mineral could be used as a resource and now competing corporations and pirates are moving in to try and capitalize on this powerful resource.

Vault hunters (treasure hunters) are attracted with the promise of wealth from various clients to try and unlock some large treasures on the planet Pandora. However when the Lost Legion raids a corporate space station plans are forced to change. Observer Jack sends the vault hunters to Ipsos, the moon of Pandora. This place isn't nearly as prosperous as Pandora... and is slightly Australian.

Borderlands The Pre Sequel takes place between Borderlands and Borderlands 2. It tells the story of how Jack emerges to become Handsome Jack the ruler of Pandora and President of a giant corporation taking its resources.
