This walkthrough will show you how to complete the Happy Birthday puzzle with Ethan in Resident Evil 7. The only items you have to get are the lit candle and the crank.

This video shows that there are no hidden items in the balloon, finger, etc. However as long as you do not get the winding key from the oil keg, you'll be fine picking up every other item available.
