How to spot a fake external hard drive | #fake #harddisk
Starting the new year with a scam is never a good way to kick things off. Unfortunately, I fell victim to one myself, despite my better judgment. The lesson learned? Don't always trust reviews.
It all started when I purchased a 2 x 2TB Seagate Expansion portable drive from a popular e-commerce store that features products from a variety of merchants. The price was unbeatable at only $30, compared to the usual cost of twice that amount. Feeling adventurous, I decided to take the risk and make the purchase.
As it turned out, things were too good to be true. When I opened the package, I discovered that one of the drives was actually a Hitachi 2.5 hard drive with only 80GB, while the other was just a pen drive with 8GB memory.
Needless to say, I was disappointed and frustrated that I had fallen for the scam. But I learned a valuable lesson: not all deals are what they seem, and it's important to do your research and be cautious when shopping online.
So let my experience be a cautionary tale to you, and always remember to be vigilant when making online purchases.
