Twitter is a great place to share thoughts and ideas, and have a discourse around popular topics or current events. However, sometimes you just want to put something out into the Twitter universe and you don't want to hear what other people think about it. Thankfully, if that's what you're looking for, Twitter makes it easy to turn off replies on tweets.
Now let's walk through the steps to stop replies on Twitter.
Step 1. Launch the Twitter app on your iPhone, iPad or Android device, and then create the Twitter tweet you don't want anyone to be able to reply to.
Step 2. Above the keyboard on the lower part of the screen you'll see blue text by default letting you know that everyone can reply to this tweet. Tap "Everyone Can Reply." A menu pops up from the bottom of the screen giving you options for who can reply to your Twitter tweet.
Step 3. Tap to place a check mark next to "Everyone" if you want anyone to be able to reply to your tweet; tap to place a check mark next to "People You Follow" if you want only people you follow to be able to reply to this tweet; or tap to place a check mark next to "Only People You Mention" if you don't want anyone other than people you mention to be able to reply to this tweet. You'll return to your tweet after making your selection, where you'll see the blue text changed to reflect the audience who can reply to this tweet.
