► When will this feature be useful?
The answer is when you have more than 1 character to move around.
And the reason why you move around in the later part of the game is when: ▼
1. Your worker empire starts to expand, you need characters in various towns to manage them.
2. Then you need to teleport all of them back to velia when you have max energy, reason is so that you can exchange all the energy with NPC Alustin to exchange for energy potion.
3. You can sell the Energy potion to the market, for quite a fair amount of silver to make money, or;
4. You can keep the potion, put in warehouse, retrieve it with your main gathering character, so it can use the potion to repeatedly replenish energy for longer gathering sessions.
5. So once you are done at velia with the energy exchange, you can then teleport all of them back to towns that require material management or;
6. Teleport them all to various towns near World Boss zone, so that these characters can set out with a shorter running distance (when your mount is with your character, they teleport together)
7. The more characters you have, the more you will find this system useful, since you can cut down so much time in travelling, and why do we want to cut down every minute of travel? Its because, BDO is a sandbox MMO where life system allows for passive income. Anything you do at every minute is income on its own, so you want to leave out travelling and let the system take care of it while you spend every of your online seconds and minutes to make money. (of course, every now and then, I encourage everyone to just ride along the lands and enjoy the scenery since its a beautiful game afterall)
8. As for the teleport feature, its a compromise that developers give us, their aim is to keep black desert as realistic as ever, which is why they have mounts, hot air balloons etc. However, the desire of teleportation is strong, yet it undermines that concept, which is why in a way to give in to players, the developers have a 1 hour restriction.
9. To players that don't manage much materials around the world or have only 1 or 2 characters, this might not be useful, but to players who have multi characters and investments of worker empire through out the world, this cuts down tons of travel time. Certainly also minimise the risk of being player killed while travelling!!!
10. When you log in, you can begin teleporting every character you want to teleport. Then switch to your main character you are playing that day to do what you want to do. 1 hour later, relog to those teleported character, do what you need. Then instantly teleport them back. Even if you play for 2 hours plus per day, if you have e.g 10 characters, the amount of travel time instantly gets reduced to almost none and yet you can optimally get things done, get things sorted out, get to the locations and earn money from energy potions. Its a win win situation if you plan your schedule. You can even teleport when leaving your PC for lunch/dinner or just when you are about to go sleep.
► Last but not least, every player has their own rights, opinions, priority of playing the game and some may not ever need this feature. I sincerely respect that and I hope the above points will help you understand, why its a feature that is good to have, but not required to use if you do not feel a need to. I believe BDO developers do care for what the community wants, and they do compromise and its something we shouldn't take for granted but should learn to appreciate.
