Admins in Facebook groups have the ability to use an @everyone tag when they want to make sure everyone in the group sees something. This can get old fast if you have an admin who thinks every Facebook post they make is worthy of everyone being alerted, or if you're in a group you just don't care that much about. Thankfully, Facebook makes it easy to turn off the @everyone tag notifications.
Now let's walk through the steps to turn off @everyone tag notifications on Facebook.
Step 1. Launch the Facebook app on your iPhone, iPad or Android device. You'll land on your Facebook home page.
Step 2. Tap the "Menu" icon in the row of icons along the bottom of the screen. The Facebook menu screen is shown.
Step 3. Scroll down to the bottom of this screen and then tap "Settings and Privacy" to open a menu. Tap "Settings" in this expanded menu. You'll land on the Settings and Privacy screen.
Step 4. Scroll down to the Preferences section, and then tap "Notifications" in that section. The Notifications Settings screen is displayed.
Step 5. Scroll down to the What Notifications You Receive section, and then tap "Tags." The Tags screen opens.
Step 6. Look in the "Get notifications when you're tagged by" section. In order to turn off the batch at everyone mentions, you'll need to have a check mark next to either Friends of Friends or Friends. If you have a check mark next to Anyone, you won't see the Receive Notifications For section at the bottom, and as a result you won't be able to turn off the batch at everyone notifications.
Step 7. Navigate to the Receive Notifications For section, and then tap to toggle off "Batch @everyone Mentions." You'll no longer receive notifications for groups you're in where someone uses the @everyone tag.
