How to turn off the new autoplay bar

I tried the firefox version of what the link says to do and it does work, you see the gray bar flash on screen for a sec in it's minimized form and then it disappears and the video doesn't go on to the next one at the end either. So it's not a complete eradication of it, but it does do the job. I saw another video with a different method but that one had more steps involved.
