To turn on Confirm Edit on Release in Fortnite, follow these steps:

Open Fortnite on your preferred system, and go to the settings menu.
Navigate to the “Controller Settings” menu at the top of the screen, marked by a controller icon with a gear behind it.
Scroll down to the section titled “Sensitivity.”

The last option will say “Use Advanced Options,” make sure this is turned on.
Scroll down to the setting called “Confirm Edit on Release” and ensure it is set to “On.”

If you want to adjust your edit settings further, there are several other options that can affect how your edits perform and the exact way your camera moves when you move your right stick around in the Controller Settings. These options come down to a matter of personal preference. But if you turn on Confirm Edit on Release, your edits will be confirmed as soon as you release the edit button
