How to Use the Compass on your IPhone (Fast Tutorial)
To use the compass on your iPhone, follow these steps:
Open the Compass App: Find the Compass app on your iPhone and tap it to open. If you can’t find it, you can swipe down on your home screen and type "Compass" into the search bar.
Calibrate the Compass (if prompted): When you first open the app, you might be asked to calibrate your compass. Follow the on-screen instructions, which typically involve moving your phone in a figure-eight motion.
Read the Compass: Once calibrated, you will see a compass face on your screen. The red arrow points north. The degrees indicate your heading, which is the direction your phone is pointing.
Additional Information: The app also shows your current location's latitude and longitude at the bottom of the screen, as well as your elevation (if enabled).
To ensure accurate readings, make sure you're not near any strong magnetic sources and that location services are enabled for the Compass app:
Enable Location Services: Go to Settings - Privacy - Location Services and make sure Location Services are turned on.
Allow Compass Access: Scroll down to the Compass app and ensure it is set to "While Using the App."
Now you can use the Compass app on your iPhone to find directions and get location information.
