T-Mobile is slowly increasing its collection of WindowsPhone devices, with its latest addition the HTC Radar 4G. As the name implies this is a 4G capable handset on the T-Mobile HSPA+ network. The Radar 4G is a Windows Phone 7.5 mango device,; meaning its running the latest version of Microsoft's mobile OS that has some very cool features with deep Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn integration.

The HTC Radar sports a 3.8-inch touchscreen with 480×800 resolution, powered by a 1Ghz processor with 512MB Ram and 8GB of Internal Storage. The HTC Radar 4G is a 14.4Mbps device on the T-Mobile network. 5-megapixel camera with F2.2 lens, LED flash, and BSI sensor (for better low-light captures). Front camera: VGA front camera. HD video recording: 720p HD.

First off this is a well built device with a nice slim unibody design, that HTC has made famous with a lot of their devices. The lower part of the device does have a slight lip that gives it a distinct design difference. As mentioned earlier it does have a 5-megapixel camera with a f2./2 camera with LED Flash, which should allow you to take some clear and sharp pic.(Good to see HTC make the F/2.2 lens standard on all their devices. The HTC Radar 4G comes with 8GB of on board storage that is not expandable via microSD, but within the system it shows up as 6GB in total

Camera

The Radar 4G has a 5- megapixel camera that records at 720p. which is the standard record rate for all Windows Phone devices ( Microsoft Why?). It does have an f/2.2 lens with LED flash that allows the camera to take some very nice pictures especially with the wide angle lens giving it better lighting. The camera also has some more advanced setting compared to other windows phone devices, giving you the ability to take panorama shots and burst shots. A sample recording of about a minute is within the video review. and you an check out some of the high quality still below.

Conclusion

The HTC Radar 4G is a great piece of hardware crafted by HTC for T-Mobile network , that brings Windows Phone to like especially with mango update. There are many aspects of the device and software that make it a wonderful phone. The in-app integration coupled with the very deep Facebook integration, keeps you ever connected to the people who are important to you. The camera app updated provide by HTC adds more to the user experience and does yield some very good stills and video recording. Battery life is fantastic, dare I say it for a HTC device. The are some negatives to point out. The lack of 42Mbps HSPA+ speeds is something that is truly missed on the OS's very smooth experience, only 8GB( actually 6G, with no expandable memory option, and lack of 1080p recording.

With all that withstanding, I would not hesitate to recommend the Radar 4G to anyone. It is a smooth mobile experience to doesn't hold you down combined with a solid piece of hardware from HTC.
