Hydro Thunder - Venice Canals (Expert)
10Some of the raw footage I've captured for my upcoming Hydro Thunder Retro Review (should be publishing it this Saturday morning, providing there's no YouTube hiccups, like it gets stuck at 360p or anything stupid like that). I decided if I got any 1st or 2nd place positions I'd keep them for separate individual uploads over the next few weeks. A couple of these I was intentionally playing to try and get a first place, like on this course, Venice Canals, one of the Expert Tracks.
I've actually edited 3 races together here:
The 1st was the one I actually got 1st place in, but it wasn't the fastest
The 2nd is the fastest, but I came 2nd
The 3rd is one where I actually bothered doing the hydro jump to get the red boost at the start (I gave up doing that after awhile, the jump goes wrong far more often than it goes right and you end up just having to re-start if you collide with the bridge..) and I also managed to jump through and smash the stained glass window in the cathedral type area at the end.
These are being played on Flycast Dreamcast emulator which upscales and smooths out the polygons a lot. The game looks ace like this! I had the widescreen option on, but the game didn't go into wide-screen properly (I could see the water and other bits of the track, but bit of the course would be missing), so I ended up cropping all the 16:9 footage back into 4:3
