0This is part 23 of my Hyper Light Drifter Lets Play. I figured out hot to progress, and we're on to another mini boss - The Sorceror. It seems there are a few of these in the Barren Hills South area. This will be a tough battle, especially as the game and my ineptitude keep stacking the odds against us. Is there even a way to beat this mechanical knight?
This is part of a Hyper Light Drifter Let's Play. Hyper Light Drifter is an indie game by Heart Machine. Hyper Light Drifter was released across multiple platforms. The Hyper Light Drifter gameplay is action/ adventure with RPG elements. The style and sound design of Hyper Light Drifter is 80s futuristic, with bright contrasting colours and lots of synths. Hyper Light Drifter was released in 2016.

This Hyper Light Drifter game is amazing visually. It tells the quest of The Magician, a wandering swordsman carrying a deadly sickness - a sickness shared by the rest of the world. Flashbacks, visions and holograms give more information - or do they muddy the water even further? Nothing is ever quite clear.
Your mission is to raise four pillars in the town centre - although this may also destroy the entire world. Pillars are found after defeating bosses - one in each area. The areas each have their own unique style and enemies, and seem to be styled after each of the four seasons. You have a sword and an array of guns to kill enemies, as well as a little buddy to help you manipulate the environment to move onwards. Side routes, secrets and detours make for an enhanced experience, which has left me at least confused, bewildered and enraptured - I'm still playing a year later. What is the final goal here? I can't wait to find out.
