The titularly-referenced Hyper Zone, it would seem. Very dark except for the little "light show" to the sides that show you where the out of bounds areas are.

Interesting fact, the screen I was playing this on was actually darker than what you see here to the point that I couldn't actually see a track at all, not that that's really necessary here or all that much more visible in the video.

Anyway, I'm glad I passed whatever score threshold it was, because this is the ultimate ship...which is actually the same model as the first ship, except it's black and has a charge shot...and, well...is immensely more powerful than the original as you can see based on how quickly it dispatches older enemies.

This stage is basically a marathon of all the boss fights in the game except for the first one...my guess is that it's because the boss from Neo Megalopolis completely eclipses it in every possible way (unlike the Ripple Field boss, which only really differs in a single trick, but is still largely the same, so I don't know) and because your souped-up ship would probably decimate it too quickly to make it a worthwhile addition to the lineup.

And the final boss is... ... ...! An alien fetus in a space bubble with a huge brain and cosmic fireballs that flies with its eyes closed?! Those fireballs really pack a punch are huge compared to the usual enemy bullets, though...and really fast, so you've got to be careful around each salvo.

Enjoy the credits and the cast of all the "characters"...because I knew you were dying to know what to call some of those guys. I only wish it included the bosses and names for the player's ships.

Nice song, like the rest of the soundtrack...but I'd really expect nothing less from Jun Ishikawa.
