I basically tried to put off confrontation with the enemy officers until the second part of the mission, to make it easier to meet the Skulltula requirements. You can't really ignore Zelda and Link going to sack your base though, haha. There's 2 Recommended Elements though, so if you have the proper defense badges you have some leeway.

Some missions of the Termina Map are more difficult than anything found in the Twilight Map, I feel. However, I think the second Gold Skulltulas are generally more forgiving because the higher-level missions with Gold Skulltulas tend to be less combat-oriented for the first objective; the 4 Skulltulas in the Moon are in missions focused on capturing keeps. After knowing how to deal with the types of missions this map throws at you, I think the Snowhead final battle had the only really difficult Skulltula.
