I commentate a $100k Board Game Tournament (WSBG)
273The most popular board games are being played for money in this multi-day tournament! First place gets $25k, with lesser payouts for other entrants. WSBG, aka World Series of Board Gaming, is a yearly tournament in Los Vegas, Nevada, featuring 16 of some of the most popular games on BGG, like euros like Brass Birmingham/Ark Nova and even hybrids like Dune Imperium. I got asked to commentate for the Ticket to Ride final, as well as for the Splendor final to crown the WSBG champion! Featured is the behind the scenes of the commentary booth, where the game is being live streamed on the dice tower network.
Somewhere in between I participated in a Patchwork tournament which did not end like I anticipated.
I also got to meet plenty of people from shut up and sit down, Our Family plays games, Paula Deming, Ruel Gaviola, man vs. meeple, Boardgameco, and more! The experience can’t get much better than playing ready set bet with Tom Vasel, then him giving feedback on your commentary!
