Grab one of the nuclear powers of the world, and threaten to nuke each other, while also racing for economic victory! In Proliferation, you have a secret economy that goes parallel with lots of take-that mechanics for constant diplomacy. You have hand management with missions and peacekeepers in hand, trying to survive the nuclear explosions from others (which cause nuclear winters). All the while, your country (e.g. Russia) is using some special abilities and racing towards their unique win condition, helped by infrastructure and trade agreements. This has similarities to Hellapagos and Civilization! Launching nukes has real consequences, like getting sanctioned! This pseudo-party game is closer to a mediumweight board game in complexity at 30-90-+ minutes, for 2-9 players.

We here at Shelfside have watched Oppenheimer and found this negotiation-heavy game quite enthralling! Now being delivered from kickstarter by War Games LV, it is buyable online, and we have the economy version featured, with the advanced diplomacy variant covered.
