I don't really like Cold War Zombies, it's too easy (Zombies Rant)
Wasn't meant to be posted yet, but its out now. Ranting about zombies being too casual nowadays, cuz it was my childhood and don't think cold war zombies is specifically good compared to previous cods.

Script:
Before I start, I do want to say that I love zombies,
and that's why it's kind of heartbreaking, and why I"m making this video.
Starting with some quick positives, I do like the tier upgrades, and field upgrades.
They made it funner to play at the beginning, but after the "gimmick" of new stuff went away,
it got back to being pretty plain. I expected more stuff to do, instead of "finishing" a map,
except for doing the easter egg, by getting all perks, and fully upgraded weapons.
After you hit max on those, the map gets boring, and you're probably only on round 20-30.
At this point in the zombies lifetime, there should be more stuff to build towards during gameplay.
Yeah, you get the aetherium crystals, but I'm talking about stuff like maybe round-based doors/areas,
random chance rounds, and more specific enemy rounds (like dog rounds every 5ish rounds).
Maybe even some new enemy types just for these rounds.
I think that would immensely increase the replayability of the maps.
By the time you've "finished" the map once, it's pretty boring to go and do it again.
The main thing keeping people playing is levels, and camos,
along with the secrets, and easter eggs in the maps.
It also keeps you playing as long as possible,
but didn't add anything to actually keep you playing.
All they seem to have did was allow you to have what you want, and play that way.
In Zombies, you used to have to almost depend on the box NRG gods,
and that was a huge part of zombies.
You can still do it, but when you can start with your favorite weapon in a loadout,
you don't need it as much.
When everyone starts using the same meta weapons, the game always feels the same.
You used to actually have to worry about what weapon you had,
like if it was a point sponge, or if the upgraded version had a gimmick
(like the crossbow in bo1 acting like a monkey bomb).
The no points on hit part is one of my main issues with the mode.
There used to be a strategy in what weapon you grabbed, not just here's more or less damage.
Like with the spectre in Black Ops 1.
You never wanted to keep it, but if you had it, you'd use it for what it was useful for,
getting points.
Now, no weapon is useful for getting points specifically, just for getting better damage.
And going along with that is the ammo boxes everywhere.
Why is the game letting us keep the same weapons forever.
Again, begging for the nrg god for a max ammo is basically gone.
And almost completely makes the max ammo redundant, just saves points really.
Nothing seems to actually be made to be difficulty for the casual gamer.
Every game seems to be a viable high round run.
The game has run out of the luck factor it has been known for.
I will say the story is less all over the place, than in bo3/4.
It's very focused on the main things, mainly being maxis, and the dark aether.
I stopped really following the story when it got convoluted in bo3,
but the way the info is given, mainly in intel pieces you put together (like dark souls item descriptions)
makes it easier to digest.
The maps themselves have always been pretty hit or miss,
depending on the layout, and features of the map.
I liked Mauer der Toten, and it's my new favorite for this game,
but that isn't really saying too much.
None of the cold war zombies maps seem to have the air of iconic towards it.
Yes, die machine had nacht,
but we still don't have the nacht standalone survival map that we've been waiting for.
At this point, there's no excuse for it if it is still coming.
Multi month waits for anything zombies related is kind of saddening to see.
We heard about standalone nacht since basically launch,
and we are half way through the lifespan for this game,
unless we get a DLC year 2 for Cold War,
which according to rumors and leaks, is a likely option.
So TLDR:
No points on hit - con
ammo boxes - con
maps - con
loadout weapons - con
field upgradess - pro
tier upgrades - pro
storytelling - pro #StyledSnail Join my Discord: https://discord.gg/dbNe2GFKVc
