Splitgate is getting a resurgence, and the popularity caused the release date to get delayed,
so in the meantime, here's some in-depth weapon shot to kill info.
Welcome to Splitgate In-Depth.
Most of the weapons in Splitgate are hitscan, but not all, and we'll get to them later.
There are 2 main damage numbers, headshot and body shot.
Body shot encapsulates everything, but the head, so leg, and arm shots are the same as a torso shot.
Some weapons also have a bit of damage drop off, for example, the SMG, and Assault Rifle.
And also I want to say I made this while the servers were down,
so I just went into training area,
so distance drop offs may increase more for very long range shots.
Damage drop off distances in the description,
as well as a link to the dev spreadsheet for weapon balancing.
Kill ranges are based on 100 health divided by headshot damage for the low range,
and body shot damage for the high range.
This just shows you the best and worst case scenario for shots,
and actual shot to kill can lie anywhere in the range,
as well as outside the range if too much time passes, and health regeneration takes place.
Starting off with the Assault Rifle, with a headshot damage of 18, and body damage of 13.
This gives it a shot to kill range of between 6-8 shots.
At a distance, headshot damage goes down to 15, and body shot damage drops to 11.
This gives it a long range shot to kill of 7-10 shots.
Next up is the Carbine with a headshot damage of 40, and body shot damage of 30.
This gives the Carbine a shot to kill range of 3-4 shots.
I wasn't able to get a range drop off for this weapon in the training area,
and looking at the dev spreadsheet shows no drop off at all.
Now up is the Battle Rifle, which is a 3 shot burst weapon,
with a headshot damage of 25 per bullet, and a body shot damage of 15 per bullet.
This gives it a shot to kill of 4-7 shots.
No damage dropoff for this weapon either.
And coming in next is the Pistol, with a headshot damage of between 20-21,
and a body shot damage of 16.
This gives the pistol a shot to kill range of 5-7 shots.
At range, the damage drops off to 16 with a headshot, and 13 with a body shot.
This gives it a ranged shot to kill range of between 7-8 shots.
Next is the SMG with a headshot damage of 11, and a body shot daamge of 9.
This gives it a shot to kill range of between 10-12 shots.
At range the damage drops down to 9 with headshots, and 7 with body shots.
This gives a range of between 12-15 shots at long range.
Now we have the dreaded, and dangerous Sniper, with headshot damage of 150,
and body shot damage of 65.
This ends up with a range between 1-2 shots.
One shot headshot, and no range dropoff.
Coming up next is the Rocket Launcher,
with a flat 150 damage anywhere on the body with explosive damage,
so expect some area of effect damage around the explosion as well.
This is a projectile weapon, so you have to lead your shots and time them well.
The rocket flies at 50m/s, so relatively slow.
Next up is the railgun,
coming in with another 150 in flat damage when hit anywhere,
and it pierces enemies, so you can collat easily if they are lined up.
It takes time to charge up the shot as well, so you have to prepare your shot ahead of time,
or snap to it when it's time for the shot to fire.
Now we have another projectile weapon, the plasma rifle.
This gun does 17 flat damage anywhere on the body, no change for headshots,
so it kills in 6 shots.
The travel time for the projectile is 85m/s, so faster than the rocket launcher,
but it can still take multiple seconds to hit at longer ranges, and no damage drop off either.
Up to bat, we have the BFB, or Big Friggin Bat,
which is a melee weapon, like the energy sword from halo.
It does a flat 150 damage, killing in one hit.
It also has a very modest melee lunge range as well,
making it feel even more like the energy sword.
Saving the best for last, at least in my opinion, the shotgun.
According to the wiki, it shoots 8 hitscan pellets.
Each pellet does 30 damage if it hits the head, and 25 if it hits the body.
This makes it kill in one shot, if at least 4 pellets hit as close range.
Damage drops off quick, and is recommended to stay within 5-10 meters.
This is my personal favorite weapon in Splitgate, and I use it all the time when possible.
I hope this helps you out, and it gets you more kills in-game.
If it did help, make sure to leave a like, and subscribe for more.
