Film school has taken every ounce of joy left in me. Now, I shall try pursuing a degree in another art because I don't know how to stop disappointing my parents!

NOTE: After finishing this video, I kept thinking about the purpose of this game and it finally dawned on me. The artist has a view of the world so vivid and colorful, yet they are the only ones who see things the way they do. The artist lives a lonely life, confined to drawing their works in isolation. They pay thousands of dollars for a professor to critique their works based on an algorithm that measures criteria that cannot be measured by numbers or a percentage. The artist must adhere to these guidelines set by the algorithm and appeal to the professor rather than stay true to the creative visions within them. The assignments get ridiculous, they get repetitive, it gets monotonous. Why do they push on? Why did I push on with the playthrough? It's because we all just want to see things through to the end no matter the cost. This game managed to truly convey what it's like to be an artist and go to school for it. I also got the soundtrack to this game and gave it a listen. The distorted vocal tracks sound so other worldly and distant. For some reason, it made me want to cry. Maybe it reminded me of just how lonely I feel as I create the films for classes, never making anything that truly means something to me, doing it all for a grade. The only people I have to talk about my feelings to are my parents. There is a song where Froshman sings to their mother, meaning that she is all they have in their life as well. What a profoundly personal experience this turned out to be without me even realizing it. This is probably my favorite gaming experience of 2019 because it is the only one that forced me to think and reflect upon my experience.
