ROSTERS:
My rosters included filled up teams on current, classic, and all time teams. Giving me 90+ teams to work with, G-League doesn't work.
I had a spreadsheet with all the teams in the tournament and their correlating 2k team.
GM SETUP:
SETTINGS
Started MyGM with full league customization settings (you can't put custom rosters into 2k's playoff mode because 2k is bad at what they do)
left injuries on, to serve the "suspended" (hurt) players that wont play in the tournament. Turned all injuries down in effect and frequency, including simulation settings.
_Leave existing roster injuries on
Turned off progression, regression, chemistry, staff abilities, trades, automatic signings, minute changes without my permission, maybe more.

If you want a 16 team playoff you need at least 17 teams in the league, otherwise it will force an 8 team playoff.
In a 17 team league the best option is to choose a 16-game schedule (everyone plays everyone once)
Upload custom roster (MM25 by FrostiYT2636)
Replace the starting teams with the exact teams you need, making sure each side of the bracket is in the same conference.
(16 team, regardless of conference, tourney wasn't working.)
_work around was to use conferences
REGULAR SEASON-PLAYOFFS:
download team designs from the front office tab
From here I took the 1 seed, forced them to win every game...2 seed, forced them to win every game except vs the 1 seed...3 seed, forced them to win every game except vs the 1 and 2 seed... etc... 16 seed still needs to beat your extra team.

upload scenario before continuing!!!
_i did this after giving teams their new identify and before forcing wins.
Find the participating teams first matchup (don't skip the 2nd in the same season if there is more than one)... play out... go to main menu, find upload scenario
PLAYER CREATION
I looked up (example) Creighton basketball roster in 2 tabs
1 for Creighton's official site so I have a quick view of their height, weight, and appearance.
1 for Creighton's 2024-2025 basketball reference so I can see every player's individual stats in an interactive table compared to their teammates
this part is a lot of work and some form of otto rizz em might be required for this and/or financial incentive
But that's how I did it basically. Hardest part is building rosters, but there are a ton of rosters publicly available including this one. It may not be 100% accurate as professionals would do it but I would give it a solid 85% accuracy at least.
