So, it's another year and another year of The Game Awards. While there are multiple gaming awards every year, TGA is one of the major ones that comes through, and there's always debate and discussion about the GotY nominees, as expected.

In 2024, the biggest points of contention appear to relate to Elden Ring, Balatro and remakes getting a spot over anything else. I'll be taking a look at the current GotY nominees, what I would have changed and also give my general thoughts on these nominations. Some of these games are genuinely in my top 10 - 15 favourite games of all time. 2024 was a good year for gaming overall. If you're someone that's been there saying "oh there aren't any good games anymore, games fell off" well, you probably haven't been playing many games recently.
