I spent $4,000 to complete the Pokédex
4,823How much time and effort does it cost to complete the Pokédex COMPLETELY in Generation 3? This video reviews my 7-month and several thousand dollar adventure to catch ‘em all, traversing 8 different games and 5 different consoles.
Stuff I didn’t mention in the video:
-I didn’t give Alakazam enough credit. Pre-“incident”, I had a Level 100 Alakazam which was the main reason many Pokémon had levelled up to evolve. Alakazam was a good friend of mine and his loss hurt the most out of the file erasure ☹
-During the Mt. Battle run, in the 70’s, a neighbor set off fireworks for New Years Eve. One landed in my backyard and set my wife’s greenhouse on fire. Middle of Mt. Battle, I had to rush outside and call 911. The fire Department came and I burned my hand putting it out before they came. It was a small fire, but I was TERRIFIED.
-I had gone on vacation two separate times during this mission, once in September 2023 and another in April 2024. I even bought a home and moved in January 2024. I also work a full-time job. This made me anxious with completion when I couldn’t work towards it and added to the length of time.
-lol I forgot to include the shot of the full living dex 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ I edited it in and Vegas crashed so I lost the update, and then I forgot to go back and put it in. lol

Jirachi: If you want a WISHMKR Jirachi redeemed, send me in a copy of Pokémon Ruby or Sapphire Versions. The copy must be English and the player must have entered the Hall of Fame.
Celebi: If you want an AGETO Celebi redeemed, send me in a copy of Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, FireRed or LeafGreen. The copy must be in Japanese and the player must have entered the Hall of Fame.
Eon Ticket: If you want an Eon Ticket to visit Southern Island, send me in a copy of Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire or Emerald. The copy must be English and the player must have entered the Hall of Fame.
Trade Evolutions: If you want to evolve a Pokémon that evolves by Trade, isolate all Pokémon into a separate PC Box named “TRADE”. If a Pokémon that evolves by Trade also requires an Item to be held, then please include the Item.
