Note: I realized on viewing this video that the Northumbrian king who succeeded to the throne had the same name as the general in Cumbri earlier - a Royal Bodyguard unit who had royal blood.

This means that he was not actually a son of the prior king who came of age (he was 42 in fact), but a disinherited cousin or uncle of the prior king.

Therefore, if you ever get the message that an AI king has "no heirs", that may not be technically true. That faction has no *princes*, but it may well have some disinherited uncles kicking around, and if the current king dies, one of them will (may?) take over.

If you want to force a faction elimination, then, you must first get rid of any characters with the "royal blood" indicator to the right of their portrait (or you can wait until father time takes care of that for you; on their death, a new general will not inherit their royal blood).
