I tried to listen to a Lex Friedman podcast
He has very interesting guests on
But the questions he asks feel so darn stupid
He had on this woman who wrote a book
All about what would happen in a nuclear war
Basically most of the planet will die
A lot of it was very interesting
But I got frustrated by some stuff they said
Like the idea that in a crisis
Everybody would go into selfish mode
Me me me and mine mine mine
But that’s just simply not how it works
All the research into natural disasters
Not to mention about hunter gatherer life
Points to heightened cooperation
People just naturally taking care of each other
But this woman and Lex either didn’t know this
Or maybe they simply don’t believe it
So them I’m well can I trust anything
At all that either of them say because
If they’re ignorant about all this research
Or at worst ignoring it
Then I’m not sure I want to hear anything else
Anything that either of them have to say
For christsakes read some Rebecca Solnit
Or have her on the podcast or something
Or read the numerous studies that show
That humans naturally cooperate
Your worldview is completely skewed
By a lifetime of propaganda
You’re a fish swimming in capitalism
And wondering why everything is so wet
I tried to listen to a Lex Friedman podcast
