I wasted $85 on a domain | False-positives, Domain History & More
107When you're looking to buy domains, check the history. Recently I purchased a domain, but it has a history of malware reaching out to it years before I bought the domain (according to Virus Total). Anti-Virus software automatically blocks pages, subdomains and more on the website, and instead of just sharing new content, I'd need to ask everyone to remove false positives first. If you've used a useful script I shared, it could have been falsely blocked.
Instead of trying to undo all the bad history of someone else on this domain, which is less than easy, I just cut my losses and bought a new domain instead.
To be absolutely clear: I do not share or create anything malicious. Video, code or otherwise. The website and domain currently do not host anything malicious, and I don't plan on it. Ever. The domain was abused years ago, and its history remains long into the future.
