v0.48 Major Changes:
● We added a large raft model to the survival book.
● Added large stick holder storage option, cost 24 stick and stores up to 40 sticks
● We’ve added a corner snap to walls, fences, stairs and foundations.
● Added new way to interact with fires: it is now possible to cook meat without holding it, Increased meat on fire overcook duration to 90s (from 60s)
● Added new way to interact with drying rack: it is now possible to store meat without holding it.
● Fixed missing area not available message at end game door
● Story Update - We have been working on the end game in the background for the last few months, however in the last few weeks it has been moved forward in priority as we try and push towards opening the door and letting players through. The team has also expanded with new animators and artists who are working solely on this section of the game.
The original ending was planned as extremely simple and basic, however with the support we’ve received during the alpha period from players, we’ve been encouraged to expand the ending into something much larger than originally intended. It’s really important to us that the ending is special and memorable, and also ties up all those loose ends - the family on the yacht, the red man, the missing children, the mutants, the missionaries and most importantly the players missing son.
The new content does take a lot of time to create, but we’re all really excited to share what we’ve been working on with everyone soon

What is The Forest?
The Forest is an open world survival horror game currently in development for PC. - Build, explore, survive in this terrifying first person survival horror simulator. The world - Enter a living, breathing forest with changing weather patterns, plants that grow and die. Tides that roll in and out with the day/night cycle. Below ground explore a vast network of caves and underground lakes.
Complete player freedom - Chop down trees to build a camp, or start a fire to keep warm. Scavenge food to keep yourself from starving. Find and plant seeds to grow food. Build a small shelter or a large ocean side fortress. decorate your home with found items. Lay traps and defenses to keep a safe perimeter.
Gameplay - Explore and build during the day. Defend your base at night. Craft weapons and tools.Bunker down during the evening or bring the fight directly to the enemy. Use stealth to evade enemies, or engage them directly with crude weapons built from sticks and stones.
A new type of open world, survival horror experience, Defend yourself against a clan of genetic mutant enemies that have beliefs, families and morals and that appear almost human.
