Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition Longplay - 022 - Dorn's Deep Level 1 Walkthrough
In this video, we'll finally ask Larrel to use the Heartstone Gem in our stead to find the evil that terrorizes Icewind Dale. He'll find it for us and it seems that our journey leads us to Dorn's Deep, the fortress of the former allies of the elves - the dwarves. Larrel offers us to teleport us there, which we'll accept. But anyways, we have to resupply in Kuldahar first. Unfortunately, Orrick didn't stock up his stock after chapter 2 which he's supposed to do, now he stocks it up but just without the items which he should have gotten in chapter 3 like the Shimmering Sash… anyway, we'll make our way to Dorn's Deep and find no dwarves but orogs.
Icewind Dale was originally developed by Black Isle Studios and published by Bioware in 2000. 2014 Overhaul Games made an enhanced version of the original game, as they already did for Baldur's Gate and Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn before. It was published by Beamdog (which is the - I guess - holding company of Overhaul Games).
I play this game with a few little tweaks from the mod "The Tweaks Anthology" from The Gibberlings, an infinity engine games modding community. I installed the "Higher HP on Level Up - Maximum HP" which grants me a maximum hit dice roll on every level up, the "Increase Jewelry and Gem Stacks" on a maximum of 80 gems (or jewelry) on a stack and the "Friendly Random Drop" with the Choose your drop option, which allows me to choose which item I get for almost all random drops within the game. Unfortunately, I forgot to also install the "Reveal City Maps" tweak, which is also very convenient.
I set the difficulty setting on insane to get a bit more of a challenge and to level up faster. My party is not a "power gamer"-party, even though I consider myself to mostly do power game runs of the infinity engine games. I rather include different races and classes to show as much of the game as possible in one playthrough.
