My party creation for a blind, hard difficulty playthrough of Icewind Dale II on PC. I'd beat the other four IE games before playing this but had never made a custom party of my own. In Baldur's Gate and Planescape you don't make a party, just a character, and in Icewind Dale I used an off the cuff pre-made party. Also I'd never played a 3E D&D game before, though thankfully the creation screen does explain a lot of things.
I needed to get it right, or as best as I could, so I'm reading things and occasionally reflecting on choices. I've edited it down a little but most of it is raw, so excuse the ponderous nature of the footage. RPG party creation is serious business and not something to be rushed through. My main aim was to create a good ranged party with a strong magic blasting element, that's my style of play, though I use a lot of summons too as the game progreses. I only use one melee fighter (the paladin) and no thief, though I do have a bard. The fighter I create is designed to be an archer... and yes I saw this party all the way to the end on hard difficulty so full playthrough to follow.
