ID Forum is an event conducted by School of Interior Architecture and Design once every semester. During this forum, designers/ architects are invited as panels to have a casual chit-chat on general interior and architecture related topics with students.
For the ID Supplement which was held on the 14 May 2015, Dr. Eric Leong, Mr Chee Ping and Ms Ong Pai Ling are invited for the title of “Design is a Balance between Form and Function - Aesthetic Design versus Functional Design”

The principle "Form follows Function" is well-known to be closely associated with modernist architecture and industrial design in the 20th century. Basically, the principle believes that the shape of a building or object should be primarily based upon its intended function or purpose.

The speakers will be giving their personal insight on the topic while discussing on the importance of balancing Aesthetic Design and Functional Design in order to achieve an ideal solution. They will also touch on how some international designers in the world are still debating on what drives a good design ultimately: form or function?
