1Sul palco dell'IDF Fall 2008 un insolito "personaggio": si tratta di Herb, un robot semovente provvisto di un braccio meccanico. Il braccio di Herb è stato realizzato con l'impiego di laser e videocamere che gli consentono di analizzare l'ambiente circostante al fine di stabilire una procedura comportamentale. La ricerca è attualmente focalizzata a trovare un sistema che consenta ad Herb o ai suoi fratelli/eredi di poter eseguire tutto a velocità comparabili a quelle di un individuo umano.
