1Olympus mju µ 1050 SW rientra nella schiera delle fotocamere rugged, è resistente alle cadute fino a 1,5m, impermeabile fino a 3m di profondità e resistente al gelo fino a -10°C. Lo zoom ottico integrato 3x (38-114mm equivalenti) è realizzato con una costruzione ottica interna a scorrimento verticale, mentre il sensore offre 10,1 megapixel di risoluzione. Questa fotocamera introduce l'interfaccia TAP control, che ne permette l'uso in situazioni solitamente complicate, ad esempio con i guanti.
