When NightDive remade Quake it was very much statement of power - they clearly have the nescesary skills to not only bring back some of the more forgotten games but also the most important games in history.
I imagine Sandy, Johns, Adrian and rest of the ID team had huge grin on their face when they saw this itteration. Doom games may be eternaly green but quake's fundation for nearly everything 3D that plays well. It is somethign i never realy liked as game but respect the fk out of just due to sheer importance (kinda like Wolf3d or even catacoumbs 3d).
