Despite having wonderfully crafted lore, world, and characters...there are still some pretty strange things about the Dark Souls world which are disturbing to consider.
If I was to eat the flesh of something that was killed by another person (like a pig or some big fish), would I gain the souls that animal had? Or just the person who killed it? Does this "soul" rule also apply to plants? If I was cutting my lawn, do I gain a soul per grass strand, or would I only get the souls when I defeat the entire lawn?
What about all the millions (or billions) of cells that die in our bodies throughout our lifetime? Do they all have a soul? What is the smallest creature to have a soul? Obviously you don't have to be very smart, big, human or hostile in this game to have a "soul", so what are the qualifications?
Do you think it feels good or bad to have a ton of souls at the ready? Does it make you feel bloated/head-achy or what? And what if you die of natural causes with no one around to absorb your souls, then where do they go? Would people write wills, having someone send their souls to a next of kin? Do these lost souls just evaporate or spread out like water on a flat surface?
