Imagine if Blizz did to one of their games what Enix did to FFVII. This is from an the off-the-cuff rant I had about how as Western civilization moved away from religion, our tendency to worship transplanted onto video game franchises and gaming companies. We now have the Church of Square, the Church of Bandai Namco, the Church of FromSoftware, and so on. Segments of fanbases can become zealots and fanatics, and will do all they can to silence any criticism about their favorite games, no matter minor or legitimate the criticism may be.
