Imjin War a mod for M2TW - Siege of Dongnae, Part 2
0Part 2 of an online battle based on a custom scenario by Paladinbob on the siege of Dongnae, one of the first battles in the Imjin War, using the Imjin War of Korea mod, a total conversion mod for medieval II total war.
At the end of the Sengoku period, Toyotomi Hideyoshi was established as the Shogun in Japan and he realized he had a problem as Japan was full of veteran warriors who took pride in their skill in battle. To avoid the possibility of uprisings he decided to invade Korea, ultimately aiming to attack China. The war became known as the Imjin War and one of the first battles was the siege of Dongnae, which is the subject of this amazing custom scenario.
The Japanese attacked at the break of dawn. The prefect of Dongnae gathered all the men who could fight and barricaded himself in the castle. The Japanese sent a messenger with the message: Fight if you want or let us pass. The Korean commander’s reply has become the stuff of legend in Korea: It is easy for me to die but difficult to let you pass. He took up his position in the upper story of the great gate of the fortress according to Korean custom and there he beat upon a great drum to urge his men to fight. And so started the historical siege of Dongnae.
Victory conditions: There are 6 players, 4 attackers and 2 defenders. The attackers are stronger and practically certain to win but the real contest is not the one between attackers and defenders but one between the attackers themselves.
There are two clans, the Toyotomi and the Tokugawa and they are going to compete about who is going to fight more bravely or perhaps more cunningly. The faction that will score the most points will win. There will be 1 point of honour for the first clan to enter the fortress, one point for the first to engage a Korean artillery unit, 2 victory points for getting the most kills as a clan and 3 points for being the first to enter the fortress square.
Because of the high resolution, the videoclip was 9 GB and I could not upload it on YouTube in full resolution. So I have decided to split it into two halves. I may post a lower resolution version of both parts in one clip at some point maybe.
