Have you ever felt that realisation of “oh yeah I’m playing a game?” Or the more common trope of hours going by in something that felt like only 1. Well this would be Immersion at work. For me the most predominant way of this happening was when I would play skyrim and you are walking around in the hill towards Riften and have the amazing sound track of the game playing in the background to only then remember that you are sat in your room, looking into a screen, playing the same game for the last decade. I’ve had this happen plenty of times but I find it really interesting how a lot of people in our modern day gaming don’t think immersion is an important thing or at least find the idea funny.
