It's been a while since I posted anything on this, huh. The main point of this thing is to serve as a map editor, but one of my friends really likes Tiled and he asked if I'd write an importer for it, and since I'm already bad at project management I thought I might as well do that.

As you've probably noticed, this is mostly working in 2D, and I *never* do stuff with 2D anymore! The tiles will still work in 3D, but these particular graphics aren't really designed to work in 3D. I'll probably do more work on that later, but it's not exactly a priority currently.

If anyone's wondering why I'm importing the maps into the editor instead of just loading them straight into the game, it's because there are other things that you'll probably want to put in a map besides static tiles (NPCs, effects, etc) and trying to do that inside Tiled Map Editor would be a huge pain in the neck. I might as well make use of the tool I spent a lot of time writing to do this exact thing, right? Also, I "compile" it into a format that's way faster to load than a straight-up Tiled file.

By the way, I live streamed myself writing a lot of the import code. I'm going to try to do that for at least an hour or so on Mondays and / or Fridays as often as possible, so if you're into that kind of thing, I'll post announcements on my channel about that sort of thing beforehand . . . probably.
