Improve Online Gaming: Disable Telemetry for Lower Latency

In this video, we're going to show you a simple yet effective way to stabilize your internet latency and improve your online gaming experience by disabling telemetry on your Windows system. Telemetry processes can consume system resources and network bandwidth, causing unwanted lag and higher ping times. By following our step-by-step guide, you can ensure your system is optimized for the best gaming performance. Let's dive right in!
👉Method:
Using Group Policy Editor (gpedit.msc):
▶ 1- Open Group Policy Editor:
Press Win + R to open the Run dialog.
Type gpedit.msc and press Enter.
Navigate to Data Collection Settings:
In the Group Policy Editor, go to Computer Configuration .. Administrative Templates .. Windows Components .. Data Collection and Preview Builds.
Configure Telemetry:
Double-click on Allow Telemetry.
Set it to Enabled and select Basic from the dropdown menu.
Click Apply and then OK.
Using Registry Editor:
▶ 2- Open Registry Editor:
Press Win + R to open the Run dialog.
Type regedit and press Enter.
Navigate to Data Collection Key:
Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\DataCollection.
If the DataCollection key doesn't exist, right-click on Windows, select New .. Key, and name it DataCollection.
Create or Modify AllowTelemetry Value:
Right-click in the right pane, select New .. DWORD (32-bit) Value, and name it AllowTelemetry.
Double-click on AllowTelemetry and set the Value data to 0.
Click OK.
By disabling telemetry through both Group Policy Editor and the Registry Editor, you can be more confident that the setting is enforced, ensuring maximum performance and minimal latency for your online gaming.
